Dr Andy Jefferson PhD, BSc (Hons)

Andy is an independent consultant and a co-founding Director of A&G Jefferson Limited, set up in 2012. He promotes sustainable development and assists companies in tackling environmental issues, increasingly supporting organisations to realise the potential of their innovative ideas and technology solutions. An advocate of collaborative working he often instigates opportunities between organisations to accelerate progress to a resilient and sustainable future.
For 13 years he supported Sustainable Aviation (SA) to drive and deliver their work programme, giving them their independent voice. For most of this time he led the running of SA, which covered over 45 companies across the aviation community, including the likes of Airbus, Boeing, Rolls-Royce, British Airways, easyJet, Virgin Atlantic, NATS, all the major UK airports plus sustainable fuel and zero emission aircraft innovators. His work at SA included making the world’s first aviation sector net zero emission commitment and plan in 2020 ; championing the progress of sustainability across the UK aviation industry with government and stakeholders; and quadrupling its membership.
Outside of SA he continues to deliver a range of other projects in the aviation, maritime, transport and travel sectors.
Prior to 2012 Andy spent over twenty years’ working for both the Airport and Airline sectors, giving him a detailed understanding of the complexities in delivering change across the industry. His pre 2012 roles concluded with him heading up the sustainability and planning team at London Stansted Airport, having previously worked in airport and airline operations, commercial development, and fleet planning.
Andy is passionate about building better links between academic research initiatives and industry to help accelerate the move towards a more sustainable future.
Gillian Jefferson B.Ed.
Company Director
Gillian is an independent consultant and a co-founding Director of A&G Jefferson Limited, set up in 2012. She supported SA for 13 years assisting the Chairs, Vice Chairs and Programme Director, focussing on the coordination and delivery of the work programme, along with general administration and financial support, including providing budgetary overview and forecasting.
Outside of SA she continues to deliver a range of other projects in the aviation, maritime, transport and travel sectors.
Prior to setting up A&G Jefferson Limited, Gillian had various roles in education; regulatory inspection; administration; and retail. She has also been Vice-Chair and Chair of a Parish Council.
